We Make Great Art
Our children’s classes offer the aspiring young artist unique opportunities for authentic learning.
Every child is an artist in our eyes! At The Fort Studios, your children are challenged to think, talk and create, as artists do, creating high-quality artwork while focusing on process. Our experienced teaching artists design creative themed projects that guide your child to achieve polish in their technical skills, and develop maturity, independence and confidence in their art-making. Our open-studio approach encourages them to be responsible for their own learning, and allows their artistic voices to be respected, valued and honoured. No two children are the same, and no two artworks are ever the same!
We offer classes for two different age groups of children:

(5 to 10 years old)
A Springboard for Creativity and Exploration

Duration: 1.5 hours
Class size: Comfortable ratio of 1 teacher to 6 students with safe distancing.
Suitable for: Children of all experience levels with a strong interest in the visual arts.
Mediums taught: Acrylic, watercolour, gouache, pen illustration, charcoal, soft pastel, oil pastel, ink, craft.
Fees include: Use of art tools, materials and A4 canvas boards for studio use. 1 A4 sketchbook will be provided for each student signed up to any Steady Learner Set. (A new one will be provided if the old one is completed.)
Frequency of artworks brought home:
1 to 3 weeks per main artwork + exercises in sketchbook (depending on complexity and size of artwork)
Instructors:
All instructors at The Fort Studios are active local practicing artists, illustrators or MOE qualified instructors within Singapore and have several years of teaching experience. Your children are in good hands!
Weekly attendance is highly encouraged for your child's learning consistency.

A minimum of 2 hours notice before the start of your scheduled class. Late notice and no shows will result in the lesson being forfeited.

class credit policy
If your child is unable to finish their lessons by the validity date, you can transfer your remaining lessons into Class Credits. Class Credits can be used for yourself or for a friend if you take on a new set of lessons starting the immediate week after your old set validity ends.
Class credits will be valid until your new set expires and cannot contribute to your new set's attendance for future promotions.
*Class credit policy is inapplicable to Structured Courses.

Trial Lesson Booking Policy:

Bookings are only confirmed after payment is successfully made and we will not be liable to remind you to make payment. Due to limited seating capacity it is recommended to complete your booking as soon as possible.

Trial lessons can only be rescheduled with a minimum notice of 2 hours before the start of class.

You may only reschedule to a different class timing within 6 days after the date of the original booking.

Your trial lesson booking can be replaced by someone else (who is not a current or past student at our studio) if you cannot attend. Do let us know who will be replacing your booking.

In the event of late notice for rescheduling (within 2h before the start of the trial lesson) or where no one shows up for the trial lesson, the trial lesson will be forfeited without refunds and cannot be rescheduled.

Fees include: Use of art tools, materials and A4 canvas boards for studio use. 1 A4 sketchbook provided for each student signed up to any Steady Learner Set. (A new one will be provided if the old one is completed.)

And we offer two programmes for children:
In a 3 week cycle, your child will follow new themes to create different forms of artwork that introduces them to basic techniques of art making and encourages creativity.
Our structured courses are focused on painting and drawing techniques and is curated specially for portfolio building.

Our structured art courses focuses on learning through several short exercises and 1 to 2 main artworks for each course level, targeted at building skill and techniques and the understanding of each specific medium. Perfect for those who wish to build foundation and equip themselves with the necessary skill sets for independent art making.

Sections needed to complete:
Section A, Section B, Section C
Learn the basics of wet and dry mediums, as well as the basics of view-finding, proportions, tones and colours. Fundamentals will be taught to establish a strong foundation before continuing with the other levels.
intermediate

Understand and learn about the advanced parts of colour theory, and get started on learning about design theory and compositions, as well as figure drawing and human proportions.

Learn about the proportions and details of portrait drawing. Gain a deeper understanding of detailing (of different subjects and with different mediums) and learn to translate techniques into style and concept.

Intake Period: Start Anytime!
Course Length: 8 weeks per course level
Duration: 1.5 hours/lesson
Level Progression: All new students will have to start from each medium's beginner course before progressing to the intermediate and next the advance course.
Current/Past students in the Personalised Art Lessons may proceed directly to the intermediate or advanced courses only if they possess the required skillsets.
Max Intake: 2 Structured Course students per class. The rest of the students will be doing personalised art lessons.
Class size: Comfortable ratio of 1 teacher to 8 students. Max 8 per class with safe distancing.
Suitable for: Ages 11 to 14. (Miney Mo)
For students who wish to improve their techniques and skillsets with a more structured workflow. Beneficial for students who are looking to build their portflio as well.
Beginners are always welcome don't be shy!
Fees include: 1 A4 Sketchbook when required, use of art tools and materials and A4 Canvas Boards. Canvases of other sizes may be purchased at the studio.

Structured Course Booking Policy:

Bookings are only confirmed after payment is successfully made and we will not be liable to remind you to make payment. Due to limited seating capacity it is recommended to complete your booking as soon as possible.

Each 8 week course is valid for 10 weeks. (An extra 2 weeks is provided for rescheduling)

The start date of each course cannot be postponed after booking is confirmed.

Rescheduling of lessons is allowed with a minimum notice of 2 hours before the start of class.

You may reschedule to the following week or to a different class timing in the same week if there is sufficient space and within the validity period of the course.

Late notice and No shows will result in the particular lesson being forfeited and students will have to purchase an additional a la carte lesson ($60) per no show, to complete the course within the validity period. Course lessons will still continue progressively.

Lessons cannot be shared with another individual.

There are no refunds of course fees once the 1st lesson has been attended.

If you wish for a refund before the start of the course, $100 of the course fee will be retained by the studio for booking and administrative inconveniences.
